Marriott (@johnemarriott) with host Scott Bakken (@scottcbakken). In this captivating workshop, John will unveil his latest project: tracking and photographing wild cougars in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.

The workshop will begin with an immersive video, where John takes us into the mountains on a cougar tracking expedition. This segment will provide a vivid behind-the-scenes look at his preparations, his insights into the ethical considerations, and his techniques for photographing these elusive creatures.

After the video, we’ll transition to a live presentation from John, where he’ll delve deeper into what sparked his interest in these elusive big cats and into the challenges he encounters in capturing their true essence in the wild. He’ll also share insights into the technical complexities of wildlife photography and the specialized equipment he employs to overcome these challenges. Furthermore, John will discuss his conservation objectives and how his photography aids in the broader effort to understand and protect these special creatures.

The session will conclude with a live Q&A, offering you a unique opportunity to interact directly with John.

About John E. Marriott:

John E. Marriott is one of Canada’s premier professional wildlife and nature photographers, with images published worldwide by National Geographic, BBC Wildlife, Canadian Geographic, McLean’s, and Reader’s Digest. He is an Associate Fellow with the International League of Conservation Photographers, a Canon Canada Ambassador, and the co-founder of the EXPOSED Wildlife Conservancy non-profit.

John has been awarded twice in the Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition honouring the best wildlife photographers in the world.
